New Project

Image
Today is a day off on a new roster starting this week. I have been allowed to trial working only 4 days a week instead of 5 ! I was sooo excited when this was approved as I had been asking for about two years to reduce my hours. So after doing the necessary things around the house I am going to watch a movie and do some more stitching on my latest project. I saw this quilt at Wendy's  and fell in love with it immediately and set about looking for the first block in Homespun magazine,  Christmas in July issue back in 2012 ! Lucky for me DD has a subscription and she able to find it easily. The rest of the blocks are on-line. Of course I started on block 2 as I really, really love that camel ! I don't know about anyone else, but I so want to add eyelashes !!! I have also finished the next block of Beauty by Jenny of Elefantz  and I think we only have a super cute lady bug to go and the main blocks are completed. Here are some more birth...

A Little Sewing

Image
I have not done much over this last week,  in fact I have been out and about most of the time, I did  however do a little sewing yesterday ( while on the phone to Telstra for a couple of hours with internet problems) and this morning. I decided to make myself a project bag to take to my stitching group. I used my favorite fat quarter bundle of Lecien Flower Sugar and a pattern by Jenny of Elefantz  from her latest e-magazine. Once I started to cut into this bundle there was no stopping me! So, not only did I make the bag, but I decided I would like a matching thread basket and then I thought "Why not make a little hold-all for the other bits and bobs". I didn't do the stitchery (not like me to not do this) as per the pattern for the front, but used one of the fat quarters with a larger design. Front Back Inside Inside of front pocket Thread basket Hold-all for my bits and bobs. Inside of the hold-al...

Friday Night Stitching

Image
Last night I traced the stitching design and applique pieces of the next block of Jenny of Elefants Beauty   BOM.  I did do a little stitching on the block but tiredness won out and when I had to pull out one too many stitches I decided it was time to go to bed. I will be stitching more of this block today with friend Michelle and DD coming over to stitch today. Friday night and Saturday sewing . . . . . how lucky am I ? Earlier in the night I finished off the binding on my table center.  I got this pattern from  here . There are lots of lovely things to sew for free on this site. I used my favorite fabric of Lecien Flower Sugar for this project. I always have problems cutting up my stash of this, but what the heck . . . . . . .  it needs to be out and seen to be enjoyed by others as well ! Thanks everyone for stitching with me last night. Go on over to  Cheryll's at Gone Stitchin`  and see what others have done....

Friday Night with Friends

Image
I am joining up with Cheryll from Gone Stitchin`  and others tonight. Little stitching is likely to be done as I get the next BOM of Beauty from  Jenny of Elefantz  ready. The latest issue of Jenny's e-magazine came out today and I want to keep on top of this BOM. Thought I would eat some chocolate now to keep from getting the fabric marked from sticky fingers later! LOL! Hope everyone has a lovey night stitching.
