A Return to Simplicity.

I have been wanting to make a little caravan pouch for a while now and the inspiration came from seeing this lovely tea cosy made by Jennifer of Elefantz . Don't ask me how but it just did. Maybe it was the beautiful fabrics or the vintage style! Inspired by this. Made this! and who could stop at one ! Green back in  progress.... Green front and back completed.... The pattern and tutorial comes from the lovely Chris from UK City Crafter . Here is the pink pouch under construction. It is easy to put together and these are going to make very nice gifts to add to my birthday box. Thanks Chris for the lovely pattern and idea.Why not pop over and make one for yourself or a friend.

A while ago I brought some plain tea-towels to stitch a design on and I finally got around to completing one! I used a Bronwyn Hayes   stitchery design and added a butterfly as something a little extra. I used Cottage Garden Threads in Dog Rose to stitch the design. I am loving these vaigated threads as there is no having to think about what colours to use where!  I think I could use this thread on the pink ones as well as it also matches these nicely. It's now ready to go into the Birthday Box for someone special. P.S.   Don't forget to enter the Melly & Me Quilt Pattern give-away here !

I love nothing better than to be organised and this means planning what we will be eating for the coming week.  Coming home from work to something in the slow cooker or in the fridge ready to pop into the oven keeps hubby and I very happy.  It also saves us money as we are not buying fast foods on the way home because it's easier.  The Internet (Pinterest) is wonderful for finding new recipes to cook, after all, it doesn't hurt to try new things and if you don't like something you don't have to make it again!  Last week I made the following new recipes. Lemon Butter Chicken - I did reduce the amount of butter in this recipe and it still tasted great. Made this up (found on Pinterest) at the beginning of the week and froze it ready to pop into the slow cooker when required. Great meal served with rice. I won this complete set of patterns for a lovely little girls quilt. As my granddaughter is too old for this type of quilt I would like to give it away to someone who will use these pretty patterns. With the beautiful rain in plentiful supply the garden got a much needed drink. Lots of plants are flowering and adding colour in an otherwise mostly green garden.  I love turning this............ Into this............thanks to my beaut mulcher that eats palm fronds with ease. Hope you enjoyed the tour of the garden this Summer.

I can now show what I sent to my swap partner Cynthia in the USA for Jenny's Stitchery Club Swap. I chose the pocket full of posies stitchery for the cover of a needle packet holder. I loved the sewing machine stitchery so used this on the front of a zippered sewing pouch. Also included in my parcel was a couple of  tea-towels. I just can't resist whipping up a few from left over fabrics.
