A Return to Simplicity.

Wendy at  Sugarlane Quilts  has come up with a wonderful idea for having items ready and waiting in your stash so when a birthday comes around you have something ready and waiting.I don't make new year resolutions as I know I won't keep them, but I do try to be organised and have gifts and cards made. The usual thing that happens is I make the cards but run out of time for the gifts and have to either make something in a hurry (and you know what happens when you sew in a hurry...........why don't you ever cut the piece larger????? why is it always too small) or go buy something. I need a push to get going and this will be just the thing and Wendy will be sourcing some freebies for us or we can use our own. I love it! The postie was a little late with the delivery....but he made it all the same! Yesterday when I got home from work there was a parcel waiting for me and I knew exactly what it was! My poor swap partner Nadine, was quite worried about the delivery, but part one has made it safe and sound. So......rather than waiting for the rest to arrive I decided to open and do a post to ease her anxiety. It was wonderful to find this absolutely beautiful stocking in my parcel. The photos don't do the traditional Christmas colours justice! It is just glorious and don't talk about the decorative ornie on the top of the stocking, just too beautiful to describe so you will have to admire it in silence!!  Here is a close up..............believe me it's better in real life! Can you say that about an item?? Did I say silence??? Can't stop talking as I am blown away with these items.LOL. Also included in the parcel was a pot holder and small velcro bag - called a sh...

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2013. I hope to do a little sewing over the next couple of days as I only have Christmas and Boxing day off then it's back to work...Bugger!  I hope Santa brings lots of goodies for everyone.
