Reporting in for Friday Night Sew-In.

Image
Just glad to have made it to the end of the working week so I  can stay home and potter around in the garden and the craft room. Thanks to Wendy   for hosting Friday night sew in. I didn't feel well last night but did manage to do a little stitching and finish off one of the hand towels I had ready and waiting. I decided to do a little trim around the bottom of the towel as well. I only just had enough scraps left of this fabric to finish off the towel. I like that I can use pieces from my scrap bin and I thought it matched the towel just beautifully. I did manage to find some time last week to go to Spotlight ! Just to pick up some necessary things that is ! Found this lovely range of fabric. I don't know what it is called as it's not written on the selvedge, only on the bolt. Can't wait to make something with these pieces.  Pop on over to Wendy's and see what everyone got up to last night.

Stitching with Friends.

I had the most glorious day today stitching with friends. There was lots of laughing and yes . . . . .We did do lots of stitching and some eating. Wendy  stitching!  I think she was saying something unpleasant about people taking pictures!! Michelle stitching and putting up with the photographers! Jennifer's  stitching . . . . . .away from her project. I think she was taking a photo. Jennifer comparing notes with Wendy on who has the worst photo of me! Lovely food provided by Michelle.....just yummy. NOT counting weight watchers points today.....shh! don't tell! Lunch. Oh! lunch is over! But, just when you thought it couldn't get any better desert appeared. Here is what I completed for the day. WOW . . I thought I did more than that! I had the best day stitching with wonderful friends. Thanks Jenny, Wendy and Michelle for the company and food!

Small Things

The weekend had a little of everything that I love.     A little stitching on the next block of Bethlehem Quilt. I hated stitching with the metallic threads, but with advice from friends, such as, using shorter pieces and taking longer stitches it's not so bad now. I am learning to deal with it ! A little card making . Made some small cards from left over card stock for my birthday Fat Quarter parcels. A little cooking . Easy orange cake with orange frosting. Found the recipe on  Best Recipes . Grand-kids thought it was great. And a couple of more surprise packages have arrived on Friday with still some more birthday Fat Quarters. Thanks again for the goodies. From Lyn Smith From Claire. Lovely weekend it was . . . . . .  friends and family, sewing and fat quarters.
