A Little Pear.

After starting a new job last week ( being with the previous company for 26 years) and feeling a little frazzled following 4 weeks off between jobs where time and day meant nothing,  I decided to indulge in a little whimsical stitching! No purpose in life other than to look pretty and give a little pleasure! So this ........... ..........turned into this......... and..... .......eventually became this! There are more sections stitched together to make another couple of pears and if I use this...... .........I will be able to add some apples in the bowl as well. How good is a fruit bowl that is always fresh! Evjoy your weekend whatever you choose to do.

Travelling the tropical rain forest highway to Yungaburra. Beautiful gardens abound on the tablelands. Interesting bird life!  Doesn't he look real? The view from our patio, and at least it wasn't raining........well, not yet anyway! A gardeners delight everywhere you look.  Lots of plants and goodies can be found at the market. And just to show that is wasn't just having a good time away, I did get the first two blocks of Monica Poole's Happiness Quilt finished before I left.  Block 1 quilted now. Block 2 pieced and quilted Ready for the next issue of Homespun and Block 3.

Wet Driving - Part 1.

We decided to head off to Cairns and the Atherton Tablelands for the last weekend before I go back to work on Monday. Cardwell Could not have picked a worst weekend as once past Cardwell we hit torrential rain and did begin to wonder if we would be able to get home due to flooding. It appears that X-Tropical Cyclone Hadi was crossing the Far North Queensland coast and dumping a huge amount of rain.  The clouds were so low they looked as if they were just skimming the tops of the cane fields.  Walsh's Pyramid had large waterfalls cascading down it's sides. Rivers were high enough to make any traveller wary.........but we kept going! Coming into Cairns the traffic was light but the cloud cover heavy. Visited friends, brought a few plants for the garden then headed off to Yungaburra on the tablelands. Come back and visit for more later in the week.
