Catching Up on Things

Image
I have been waiting patiently for my new Tilda book to arrive and what do you know it came yesterday! Although I was wanting to make the My Town Placemat, I just couldn't resist making a few of the plump, very short legged reindeer! He is such a cute little fellow that I have another 3 on the bench ready to stuff! I can see a whole herd coming to stay at my place! Last weekend DD and I caught up on some secret stitching while we enjoyed a cuppa and some chocolate brownies. Can only give sneak peaks! Can't wait for the big reveal! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and if you are looking for something beautiful to stitch over the holidays why not head over to Jenny's of Elefantz and check out the next Stitchery Club on offer - Stitchy Things .

A Change of Pace

At a time when there are a lot of people out of work it almost seems like something crazy to do, but do it I have! What is it you ask! That's right! Taking off the high heels and giving up the work travel, putting away the laptop and the fancy bags....oh!... I might keep the bags! I do love a stylish bag.....but after 23 years in Health Management I have decided to give it all away and not work in management any more but to go back to my love of being a nurse and work very part-time. No more worrying about staffing, no more on call, no more budgets and no more full-time work, no more policies, no more reports to the health minister! My last day will be this Friday and I start on a new chapter of my life. I want to be able to do more stitching and sewing, cooking and spending time with the grandchildren. Makes it sound like it's me, me, me, me! I guess it is but it took lots of thinking and reflection on what I have achieved over the last twenty odd years...

Last night I stitched along with Wendy and the crew for Friday Night Sew In. Although I was tired I couldn't help but pick up my stitching while watching Better Homes and Gardens on TV. Currently slowly getting through Wendy's gorgeous Christmas design. You can get your own copy here . Block one done! I changed the French word for an Italian one meaning the same thing. Block 2 done! Don't you just love the little birdie? Block 3 ..........almost done!  I'm hoping I can get it finished by Christmas. Thanks Wendy, for hosting and thanks everyone else for stitching along with me. Pop on over to Wendy's blog and see what everyone  got up to last night.
