Quick and Easy Caddy

Image
I saw this lovely caddie on Jenny's blog as a tutorial and wanted to make one for myself. Not only do they look lovely they are practical as well. Because I used a stitchery I had in the spares box it came together quickly and Jenny's instructions are very easy to follow so I had no issues and finished it before heading off to work. I used a Browyn Hayes from Red Brolly design for this one.  And you know me........just couldn't stop at one and decided to stitch up a Leanne Beasley design for the next. I think the stitchery says it all as this one is for the birthday box for someone special! It took  a little longer to finish as I had to do the stitchery first. I'm off now to make a nice pot of tea, catch up on my favourite programs and do a little stitching. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a lovely Mothers day.

A Love Affair!

I called into a craft shop the other day to pick up my order of weave-line and fell in love with some Tilda fabrics and knew I would just have to bring some of it home with me. I also got a new selection of Cottage Garden Threads as well and they make a delightful addition to my stash. I immediately wanted to start a new project and found a stitchery design from one of my Candlewicking books ( yes I used to do that too) and started stitching. I think I will turn this one into a table centre and maybe it'll go into the birthday box and maybe it won't! Love the subtle colours of this thread called Apricot Ice. The green is Cottage Garden also and is called Pea Soup. I think I am having a love affair with these variegated threads and the lovely Tilda fabrics.

Trouble in the Hen House!

An egg thief came visiting the other day.........he/she was most unwelcome and I spent some time dealing with this pest to chase it out of our yard! It is a Sand Monitor and was about 1 metre long. This got into the chook house because when I am home I usually let out some chooks to pick around the yard and it came in through the open gate. I didn't know whether to be scared or to laugh as the chooks made an awful racket but kept going near to have a look. I finally chased it away and out of the yard. I did have the help of my little band of ducks...........well that's what I liked to think anyway. I think they thought I had the food bucket and only followed me for a feed! LOL! They had lots to say also, but I think it was along the lines of .." Hey! where's the FOOD"!
