A Return to Simplicity.

A while ago as I sat at my computer madly saving pins from Pinterest onto my boards,  I stopped and thought about all the great recipes,  stitching,  gardening,  and re-purposing projects...... ........that I had saved for "One Day" and I wondered just WHEN   one day would arrive!  After all with me it's about saving these ideas because I want to try my hand at it also......not just having a great collection of what other's can do! Well I have decided that One Day has arrived and I am going to start creating, changing and planting some of these ideas for myself and I started this week with a new recipe. Zucchini Bread I have never made bread/loaf using Zucchini's before and couldn't wait to try this out.  The recipe made two lovely moist nutty flavored loaves. I have been absent from the Friday Night Sew In for a while now,  but I'm finally back on board again. It was a great feeling sitting down on Friday (yes I did start early) and stitch the afternoon and night away with lovely like minded people. My project was one of Jenny's lovely blocks from her Gentle Domesticity collection. Loved this one since I first laid eyes on it. It was quick to finish and only used a few pieces from the scrap bin. Thanks Wendy B for hosting this great sew in.  I'm off to make a cuppa and see what's on everyone's craft room bench. Why not pop over here and have a look too!

I love to stitch and this is quite obvious when you see the amount of orphan stitchery's in my stash. Sometimes (more often than not)  I stitch with no plan for them other than I really love the designs and I often don't have any idea on fabric until after I am finished. I often get in trouble for this from a certain friend who is so much more organised than me! So while browsing Pinterest I came across this idea and thought it would make a great gift. They look so cute with their matching utensils and recipe cards. I took a Jenny of Elefantz  design from her "a year in the garden" stitchery  and made it into one of these cute pot holders using some fabric from my stash. Lucky for me I had some fabric in orange tones to match the stitchery. There's no chance this one will find it's way into the gift box as it's definitely a keeper.
