The Pear.

Image
I just couldn't wait for the new Tilda range to be released and I must admit it was only home a couple of days when the scissors came out.  The first thing I made was a little fabric box for the craft room. Followed by this cute mug rug that used up some of the scraps from making the box above. I think I'll be making a couple more of these and even an apple or two to compliment the pears. What are you planning to do with your new Tilda fabric?

Thread Holders.

Image
I used a tutorial from Kerryanne of Shabby Art Boutique to make some pretties for myself and friends. A couple of pieces of balsa wood from Spotlight turned into these lovely thread holders.  I still have a few more to cut out and finish but I love using mine already. Why not pop over to Shabby Art Boutique and make a couple for yourself.

Little Owl Pincushions.

Image
These cute little owl pincushions are simple to make and are a lovely little gift for someone special. I posted a sneak peek on Wednesday on Facebook. Which turned into these! The little blue one is the prototype and the others are made from my lovely Tilda stash. I have been encouraged to do a tutorial  by Jenny of Elefantz and I am working on this over the weekend. Will post on Monday. So if you are wanting the pattern and instructions, thanks for waiting.

Waiting.

I know that I'm not alone in wanting to get my hands on the new Tilda book and fabric range and although I decided to not have a go at anything without a pattern (DD will confirm this)  I just couldn't help myself! So using fabric from my Tilda stash I had a go. I did things a little different to what the pattern is going to say and I made it according to my own size based on a pair of little scissors. Pretty happy with the end result and I had lots of fun putting it together but I really know why I don't like to needle turn anything!  Now I have a handy sewing kit to pack in my bag when I go stitching. Off to the mountains tomorrow to stitch with wonderful friends so of course I'll take along my new sewing kit.
