A Return to Simplicity.

What happens when you spill your drink?  Of course you make a new table mat! I only had one mat for my side table and when I spilt my drink on it I thought another would be a good idea. I used quick and easy quilt as you go technique and it didn't take too long before it was finished and taking up residence on the side table. I used a pack of fabrics I had purchased from a craft show a few years ago in Sydney. Of course there were enough left-overs so  I just had to make a matching table centre! I was lucky to have an all day sew in with Wendy , Jen and Barb yesterday. We had a delightful day stitching, talking and a bit of eating which was all combined with much laughter. Thanks Wendy for hosting the stitching night. I was working on putting a lovely Red Brolly design onto a purchased tea-towel. I am using Cottage Garden Threads - Dog Rose for this design. Still have a little more to do and then it will go into the birthday stash box. I also received some squishy mail on Thursday and it was from Gayner in the UK. She was my secret swap partner in Jenny's Stitching Club Swap. Thanks Gayner for the lovely surprise and the bags will be put to good use. I also loved the little note with a bit of her history. I have taken out my crochet hooks and trying to remember how to make little flowers. Don't laugh at the colours as I was determined to use what I had on hand.  They will come in handy to add to projects or to pop in bags as little gifts when friends visit. I am joining in the de-cluttering revolution having decided to cull my cooking magazines by just keeping the recipes I will use and getting rid of the rest. There are some that I will never ever try as they don't appeal to me at all or they have ingredients that are hard to find. I am trying to do at least 4 per day but sometimes I just look and drool instead!  I can feel a folder cover or two begging to be made! LOL! I will enjoy doing this as it will make quite a lot of space available for other things and maybe I'll try out a few new recipes as I go!
