Embracing Unhurried Days
This lovely quote, "Embracing unhurried days and finding happiness in life's little details", speaks volumes to me these days. With all the turmoil in the world and newspapers and television full of doom and gloom, it is wonderful to take to heart the words above.
Within the boundaries of our property, we can close off the rest of the world and move through our days unhurried. Not looking at the clock so often and pottering around the gardens or in our craft areas most days.
Being retired with sound planning and financial advice has allowed us to retire when we were ready and feel comfortable about doing so.
This Autumn weather has begun to cool, and with it come afternoon showers, nearly every day. No amount of watching the sky will predict what may or may not come. The veggie garden is powering on, with sweet corn, tomatoes, lettuce, spring onions and loads of herbs. The basil bush has become very tall and needs a good topping.

As part of finding happiness in little details, I love to have some potted colour, so little (or not so little) pots of flowers have started to appear. Today I planted some nasturtium seeds in a couple of different places. I don't necessarily want the flowers for picking, but to admire when walking around the garden. This is why I love to have orchids growing on trees; it is such a surprise when you come upon a flower.

We don't need bigger houses or the newest things. We need quiet mornings, with coffee or tea, laughter around the table, long talks whenever the fancy takes you, flowers in the yard and a home filled with love.
That's the kind of wealth money could never buy!
