In a Spin!

I wasn't feeling well on Friday night so there was no stitching done for FNSI and as it turned out I was worse on Saturday and so far the rest of the week has not been much better.
The doctor says I have Vestibular neuritis/Labyrinthitis which is caused by a virus affecting the inner ear  and balance which causes dizziness and nausea.




I have spent the last few days at the doctors and having tests and apparently there is not much to do except ride it out and let it resolve itself.

It has been hard to see the PC and don't talk about stitching, let alone walking and eating. Guess it is good for the diet!
But I think I am on the mend and have been able to pick up some embroidery today for short periods of time............feels soooo good after 6 days of nothing.
So I really don't have much to show for the last week but some stitchery that I did a while ago and these have been in my UFO pile waiting for somewhere to go!




These are lovely Bronwyn Hayes designs and looking at them certainly cheers me up. Sorry about my non replies to those who have left comments on the blog. Will get to them soon.

    I have something very similar ... I was told something is clogging up the hairs ... The worst was moving my heads position. Still there after a few weeks but much better

It's been a long while!

 I have decided to blog again after a lengthy absence. I guess I'm not alone, as others have decided to quit blogging and then returned. So........the story so far. I have been retired for a couple of years now and have settled into a new way of life with my hubby of 53 years. No more early starts or late finishes. When I hear the rain at night, I simply turn over and go back to sleep! You might think that I would learn to sleep in... but alas, I have not! I take my cup of tea out into the early morning light and just admire the beautiful beginning of the day.  It's very peaceful at this time of the morning with only the company of my 3 dogs. Hubby stays inside reading the paper, but that's what retirement is supposed to be....doing something or doing nothing!  It is good to be participating in the sew in again, and what's even better, is that I can stitch with everyone while recuperating from a nasty respiratory virus! 😷   I have been working on A Day in Happy Land for a while now and although I have recently completed all the blocks, there is the quilting to be done. So..........now I am starting back at block one.   I started this quilt a good while ago and it was an easy and light project to take to my craft groups. Everyone would comment and tell me it would take forever to finish......I used to just laugh and keep going.   Lately the ladies have been surprised at quickly I had motored though them and that I was almost finished. I can't wait to do a show and tell! The wet season helps when you can't get into the garden and the craft room is the only option!  I think I have finish quilting blocks, 1,2,11 and 12. A Change of Pace

At a time when there are a lot of people out of work it almost seems like something crazy to do, but do it I have! What is it you ask! That's right! Taking off the high heels and giving up the work travel, putting away the laptop and the fancy bags....oh!... I might keep the bags! I do love a stylish bag.....but after 23 years in Health Management I have decided to give it all away and not work in management any more but to go back to my love of being a nurse and work very part-time. No more worrying about staffing, no more on call, no more budgets and no more full-time work, no more policies, no more reports to the health minister! My last day will be this Friday and I start on a new chapter of my life. I want to be able to do more stitching and sewing, cooking and spending time with the grandchildren. Makes it sound like it's me, me, me, me! I guess it is but it took lots of thinking and reflection on what I have achieved over the last twenty odd years...
