Getting Ready for Easter.

Now I know everyone has seen the Hot Cross buns in the stores and maybe even sampled some and just like the shops this year I too am early with my Easter preparations. While taking a wonder around Pinterest recently I found a great idea for filling the goody bags for the grandies. These three I made up while catching up on a movie.

I brought the paper bag packs from the cheap store and when it gets closer to Easter I will be able to put some goodies into the bags, pop in a bunny and hey presto!
Don't know what I am doing on the bags yet but I only have to do a bit of a hunt around and I am sure I can find some ideas.......maybe some little chickens? Maybe a trip back to Pinterest might get the creative juices flowing.

    Cute bunnies! I haven't thought about Easter yet. Still working on Valentine's Day. But I know Easter's early this year so I guess I should get over to Pinterest!

    I don´t know how is a hot cross bun :) but the name is appetizing. our easter is different. But, the last years , the shops offer Rabbits and eggs, and a variety of easter articles for decoration. But , not buns. They not have the best: easter sweets :)).
    Your fabric rabbits are lovely. Good idea for the bags.

It's been a long while!

 I have decided to blog again after a lengthy absence. I guess I'm not alone, as others have decided to quit blogging and then returned. So........the story so far. I have been retired for a couple of years now and have settled into a new way of life with my hubby of 53 years. No more early starts or late finishes. When I hear the rain at night, I simply turn over and go back to sleep! You might think that I would learn to sleep in... but alas, I have not! I take my cup of tea out into the early morning light and just admire the beautiful beginning of the day.  It's very peaceful at this time of the morning with only the company of my 3 dogs. Hubby stays inside reading the paper, but that's what retirement is supposed to be....doing something or doing nothing!  It is good to be participating in the sew in again, and what's even better, is that I can stitch with everyone while recuperating from a nasty respiratory virus! 😷   I have been working on A Day in Happy Land for a while now and although I have recently completed all the blocks, there is the quilting to be done. So..........now I am starting back at block one.   I started this quilt a good while ago and it was an easy and light project to take to my craft groups. Everyone would comment and tell me it would take forever to finish......I used to just laugh and keep going.   Lately the ladies have been surprised at quickly I had motored though them and that I was almost finished. I can't wait to do a show and tell! The wet season helps when you can't get into the garden and the craft room is the only option!  I think I have finish quilting blocks, 1,2,11 and 12. A Change of Pace

At a time when there are a lot of people out of work it almost seems like something crazy to do, but do it I have! What is it you ask! That's right! Taking off the high heels and giving up the work travel, putting away the laptop and the fancy bags....oh!... I might keep the bags! I do love a stylish bag.....but after 23 years in Health Management I have decided to give it all away and not work in management any more but to go back to my love of being a nurse and work very part-time. No more worrying about staffing, no more on call, no more budgets and no more full-time work, no more policies, no more reports to the health minister! My last day will be this Friday and I start on a new chapter of my life. I want to be able to do more stitching and sewing, cooking and spending time with the grandchildren. Makes it sound like it's me, me, me, me! I guess it is but it took lots of thinking and reflection on what I have achieved over the last twenty odd years...
